Charles Barkley’s Outrageous Remark About San Antonio Women Causes Controversy

Charles Barkley was powerless to resist. The NBA star and TNT pundit, who is back in San Antonio for the NCAA men’s basketball championship festivities, rekindled his long-running and highly contentious battle with the city’s women by making a now-viral bombshell remark during Sunday night’s Capital One JamFest.

Barkley grinned as he spoke, evoking loud applause and gasps from the audience: “Y’all got some big bitches here,”

The incident, which was captured on camera and is currently trending online, featured Barkley’s notorious “big ol’ women” remarks directed toward San Antonio, which he was allegedly advised to stop years ago due to claims of fat-shaming.

Barkley said in 2021 that TNT had been compelled to stop airing his humorous quips because of cancel culture. He said back then: You can’t even have fun nowadays without these jackasses trying to get you canceled,”

However, the 62-year-old obviously recognized an opportunity to bring the bit back to life—and he took full advantage of it—with a live microphone and no business suits in sight. Barkley seems upbeat despite the fact that the occasion occurred just one day after Florida ousted his old mater, Auburn, from the Final Four.

Even though the joke was well received by the live crowd, he is already facing backlash from online critics for reinforcing what many consider to be disrespectful and out-of-date humor. Barkley has never held back, though, and it doesn’t appear that he will soon.
