The sports world was jolted with fear last night after a hard hit took Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Damar Hamlin out of the game.

Damar Hamlin, 24, went into cardiac arrest after being hit during the Buffalo Bills' "Monday Night Football" game against the Cincinnati Bengals last night. On the field, medical professionals performed CPR for nine minutes, which resulted in his heartbeat being restored. Players openly wept as medical professionals worked on Damar.

Damar's family released a statement where they thanked everyone for the outpouring of support:

After the game was suspended...

Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs stayed in Cincinnati and was seen arriving to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where Damar remains in critical condition. ESPN’s Coley Harvey, who was outside the hospital on Monday night, reported that Stefon was stopped by a cop while trying to see Hamlin.

Outside of the hospital…

Bills and Bengals fans gathered outside to show Damar support. Gotta love it.

An hour after Damar collapsed, the NFL confirmed the Bengals vs. Bills game would be postponed (after it was temporarily suspended).

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement saying the league’s thoughts are on Damar and the Bills and that the league would give an update on his condition when available:

Folks are upset that it took the league so long to decide to postpone the game. And that’s not the only thing people are mad about…

Following the unprecedented event on the field, ”Undisputed” sports commentator Skip Bayless took to Twitter to tweet about “logistics," which didn't sit well with a lot of people.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of the game — but how?” Skip tweeted. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

That tweet sparked outrage from a number of current and former athletes, as well as celebrities. Peep their reactions below:

This morning, the Fox Sports host apologized on his FS1 show “Undisputed.” Watch his apology below:

Noticeably missing was Skip’s co-host/former NFL player Shannon Sharpe. While it hasn’t been confirmed, NFL fans are convinced Shannon didn’t show up for today’s “Undisputed” episode because he’s disappointed in Skip.

Last night, Shannon asked his Twitter followers to send prayers up for Damar.

”Please keep Demar Hamlin and his family in your thoughts and prayers. NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed after an incident like this. #MondayNightFootball #BillsVsBengals,” he tweeted.

We're sending up prayers for Damar and his family during this unimaginable time.
