Billboard 200: Lana Del Rey’s ‘Tunnel Blvd’ Rides To Second BIGGEST Sales Opening By a Female This Year

Just two weeks after Miley Cyrus saw her March 10-released eighth studio album, ‘Endless Summer Vacation,’ take a trip to the top of the Billboard 200 with the year’s  biggest first-week sales for a female, her ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ co-star Lana Del Rey has soared to the runner-up position thanks to her new LP, ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.’

First-Week Sales (SPS): 115,000 units

First-Week Sales (Pure): 87,000 units

Billboard 200 Debut:  #3

After industry analysts predicted Del Rey would shift 119,000 after the inaugural sales tracking week of ‘Tunnel’ (her ninth studio effort), the GRAMMY-nominated songbird flew slightly under expectations by hovering nearer the 115,000 sales mark.

Opening at #3 with her biggest streaming week to date on the refreshed Billboard 200, the placement keeps her top 10 record on the hitlist intact as it comes as her ninth consecutive project to land in the chart territory.
