The awkward moment unfolded as the reporters, seemingly under pressure to keep pace with the chaotic red carpet schedule, ended their conversation with Babyface mid-interview to rush over to Roan. This left many viewers shocked, especially considering Babyface’s iconic status in the music industry.
Later, during the show, the reporters apologized live, attributing the incident to the hustle and bustle of the red carpet.
Shortly after, AP News issued a formal statement of apology:
“We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet,” the statement read. “We have apologized to Babyface through his representative and to our viewers on the livestream.”
