Atlanta Officially Proclaims October 17 Gucci Mane Day
Oct. 17 will now be known as Gucci Mane Day in Atlanta
Now, recording artist Gucci Mane can brag about having his own official day in his hometown of Atlanta.
On the day of his latest album release, Gucci was given a proclamation declaring that Oct. 17 will now be known as ‘Gucci Mane Day. An Instagram post by DJ Akademiks confirms the plaque given to Radric Davis, better known as Gucci Mane, by the city council.
Stupid Dope reported that the Oct. 17 date is also an abbreviation for Gucci Mane’s company and record label, 1017. The latest album, “Breath of, Fresh Air,” features 24 songs. Some featured artists on the project are Lil Baby, Young Dolph, J. Cole, DaBaby, 21 Savage, Mike WILL Made-It, Roddy Rich, Nordo Wick, London on da Track, and Kodak Black.
The album’s promotion building takeover of the album cover, which features his wife and two children.
According to Power 105, the Atlanta rapper also hosted a signing event at DBS Sounds. He gave fans who appeared at the store autographs and took pictures with them. Later that evening, he performed a concert with some of his rap peers as he took them to church at the Tabernacle.
Some who shared the stage with him throughout the night were Latto, Quavo, and Key Glock. Yet, the surprise of the night belonged to another Atlanta staple, T.I. Letting go of a past dispute with Gucci, the “Rubber Band Man” lyricist stepped on stage with his former rival as they officially squashed their beef.
“Breath of Fresh Air” is Gucci’s 16th studio album and is being distributed by 1017 Global Music/Atlantic Records. The album has already surpassed tens of millions of streams on various platforms.
