The New York Jets are still dealing with the aftermath of their Aaron Rodgers bombshell, which was announced two weeks ago. On Tuesday, coach Aaron Glenn admitted that some players were “upset” by the team’s choice to part ways with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
One of them was standout defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who, when news of the team’s plans surfaced on February 9, wrote “another rebuilding year for me I guess” on X accompanied with a thumbs-down emoji.

Glenn claimed to have discussed it with Williams in private. At the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Glenn told reporters: “Yes, I have talked to him,”
“And listen, I understand the reaction of the players, but I’ll say this: Every decision that me and [general manager Darren Mougey] make is to win and to win now.
“So, I understand it, but again: Listen, this is not going to be the last decision I make that’s going to upset some people, and that’s OK. But as men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.”

For the first time since the team formally revealed the Rodgers decision on February 13, Glenn and Mougey spoke about it, but neither offered any insight into their reasoning. Rodgers, 41, guided the Jets to a dismal 5-12 record and ended 25th in QBR.
They obviously wish to disassociate themselves from the Rodgers era, but Mougey—who was not asked—tried to address a rumor that claimed Rodgers was informed he couldn’t go back unless he left “The Pat McAfee Show.”
