As the year draws to a close, That Grape Juice is reflecting on the occasions that rocked – and to some degree – maybe even reshaped the Urban and Pop cultural landscape as we know it.

Next, we look back on how Taylor Swift made it rain all year long thanks to her hotly selling ‘Eras Tour.’

In what came as little surprise (but still jaw-dropping news), Forbes reported at the top of 2024’s fourth quarter that Swift had slid right past singer and beauty mogul Rihanna to be named the world’s richest female musician.

Taylor’s net worth now hovers around the $1.6 billion mark.

At just 34-years-old, the history-making diva reportedly became a billionaire solely based on the value of her songs and live performances with the former worth an estimated $600 million while the latter (which includes her tours) have raked in another cool $600 million.

Elsewhere, she’s said to own an estimated $125 million in real estate.

If anything, however, what drove her surpassing the likes of Rih, Beyonce, and Madonna on the “richest female musician” list was her ‘Eras Tour‘ – the highest-grossing tour of all time.

At writing, the global jaunt – which kicked off in March 2023 – has pulled in over $1 billion in total gross. It’s the first tour by any artist to boast such.

It’s en route to crossing the $2 billion threshold when the final count comes.
