Before 2025, only two artists in the 67-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 could boast a streak of at least one new top 10 hit every year for 12 years in a row: Prince and Mariah Carey.

That exclusive club gained another member this week, however, thanks to The Weeknd landing his 20th top 10 smash.

Thanks to his history-making new album ‘Music,’ rapper Playboi Carti rocketed into Hot 100 record books this week for having the most simultaneous entries of any rapper in history (31).

Among those is the #4 premiere of ‘Rather Lie‘ with The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye).

While ‘Lie’ marks Carti’s ninth appearance in the chart region, for Tesfaye it’s the 20th – a historic placement on two fronts.

First, he ties Bruno Mars for most top 10 hits among any male vocalist of color this century. Among all male vocalists, however, only Justin Bieber (26) can boast having more.

Second (and most importantly), Abel is now the ONLY artist this century to have collected a new top 10 hit every year for 12 consecutive years (2014-25).

Among all acts over the chart’s 67-year history, only Mariah (1990-2001) and Prince (1983-1994) can say they’ve done the same.
