FBI Warns ICE Agents They’re Being Catfished By Fake ‘Trad Wives’ On Dating Sites

Apparently, since at least the start of this year, a group of women has been catfishing immigration agents with profiles that present them as “trad wives,” which is what conservatives call traditional wives, because, for whatever reason, they feel the need to rebrand stay-at-home moms who cook, clean, rear children, and don’t talk back to the men of their houses if they know what’s good for them. 

To protect these federal agents who scroll through online dating sites, looking for their future handmaid, the FBI has been warning them of this group of women who are using a “trad wife” aesthetic to lure in unsuspecting immigration cops looking for love, only to dox them instead of date them.

The FBI in Chicago disseminated a brief memo to other law enforcement officials across the US on the potential threat to agents in February, warning that “as of late January 2026, a small group of women allegedly were creating fictitious online dating profiles with the purpose of attracting and then doxxing law enforcement participating in immigration enforcement”. The report, which was shared with the Guardian, provided few details about the alleged scheme and did not explain the source of the information.

“These profiles were incorporating imagery of a ‘traditional wife’ aesthetic and listing specific interests in an attempt to appeal to … individuals in law enforcement,” the FBI continued. “The objective was to lure affiliated law enforcement personnel into an online or in-person interaction under the guise of a date, after which the individuals would be publicly exposed and doxed online. The tactic is intended to generate public embarrassment and deter immigration enforcement activity.”

First of all — FIRST. OF. ALL. — I know the FBI ain’t out here minding the trad-ops’ business like this agency didn’t have to lower bestiality restrictions so it can recruit personnel who don’t need online dating subscriptions because animal shelter websites are free to access. The FBI should really be on this group of presumed feminists’ side because, apparently, all of them are choosing the bear. Jussayin’.

Nah, but seriously, it must be hard out here for a single-and-ready-to-mingle ICE cop.

I mean, I can’t imagine what it must be like to have someone lure you out under false pretenses, then detain your interest just to trap you and attack you with consequences you never consented to, deporting you away from your sense of security. How dare these women conceal their identities to mask their true intentions? It’s a good thing the FBI was there to monitor-but-not-ankle-monitor the situation. (That last one might have been too on the nose, but whatever.)

Anyway, according to the Guardian, the FBI’s memo to immigration agents was first obtained through a public records request by Property of the People, a government-transparency non-profit. 

The FBI reportedly wouldn’t answer questions regarding the memo, but a spokesperson did release a statement, saying, “The FBI regularly shares information with our law enforcement partners to assist in protecting the communities they serve as well as protecting those who serve and protect communities. The FBI is committed to ensuring that law enforcement officers are safe from threats or violence while performing their duties.”

Of course, when it comes to this thoroughly MAGA-fied federal government, there’s always the chance that it’s all a bunch of bullshit.

The Guardian noted that the FBI memo was released just as the New York Post published a story reporting that “lefty TikTokkers” were “orchestrating groups of women” to “chase d–k pics and selfies of ICE agents in a twisted scheme to dox them.” (I was going to make a joke about “unsol-ICE-ited d–k pics, but I decided to chill.) The source for that story was Libs of TikTok, a right-wing social media group that presents itself as a fake group of libs — in case you wanted to chew on that bit of irony for a second.

Of course, Libs of TikTok is not a reliable source of factual information, and whether the FBI’s memo was inspired by the story or not, the agency’s sources could be, for all we know, just as unreliable.

“The right-wing echo chamber creates threats, and the government’s intelligence apparatus just repeats those threats without any context, more detail, or any instruction of how agents or officers should respond,” Mike German, a former FBI agent, told the Guardian. “They must have run out of other threats.”

Ryan Shapiro, executive director of Property of the People, echoed the speculation that the FBI is just passing along nonsense from the right-wing rumormill.

“It’s absurd the FBI issued a thinly-sourced security alert about ICE agents’ online dating troubles,” he said. “It’s equally ludicrous the FBI is spending taxpayer dollars to protect ICE agents from possible ‘embarrassment’ at the hands of a supposed ‘small group of women’ who might name and ridicule them online.”

Oh, come on, y’all, foot soldiers for white nationalism need love, too. Don’t they?
