‘Are you f—king kidding me?’: Kamala Harris slams Trump’s ballroom as millions set to lose SNAP

“What about those babies?” said the former vice president while discussing the actions of her 2024 presidential opponent.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris dropped the F-bomb when discussing President Donald Trump‘s $300 million ballroom that he is constructing, even as the government remains shut down and millions of Americans are about to lose their SNAP benefits on Saturday.

“I mean, are you f–king kidding me? This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends, while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now? Come on!” said Harris during an interview on “The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart.”

Trump, who is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida amid the ongoing government shutdown, has been highly criticized for demolishing the White House’s decades-old East Wing to build his ballroom. While taxpayers are not footing the bill for the $300 million project, it has become somewhat politically damaging, as polls show most Americans oppose it.

Meanwhile, Trump and Republicans have refused to meet or negotiate with Democrats to reopen the government due to disagreements over healthcare funding. Without a deal, thousands of federal employees are furloughed without pay, including crucial TSA workers and air traffic controllers, and millions of American families will go hungry without SNAP food assistance.

Harris, discussing the Trump White House demolition and the federal government’s MAGA takeover, explained that her 2024 presidential opponent is more destructive than what some see as a necessary disruptor.

“I believe it’s important we not conflate disruption with destruction…disruption is important, but destruction for the sake of some grand gesture [or] look what I can do quickly and get rid of a thing without any plan…what is it going to actually do to improve people’s lives?” said Harris. “I’m not going to be distracted by, ‘Oh, does the guy have a big f—g hammer?’ What about those babies?”

As America’s first female vice president and the first Black and South Asian woman to be a presidential nominee, Harris said she knows firsthand what it is like to be a disruptor.

“I can tell you, from my lived experience as a public servant, challenging the status quo is brutal. You know, there is an assumption that status quo is static…Let me tell you something—you start challenging status quo, you will find it is quite dynamic,” she shared.

“It will fight against change every step of the way. I know because I have tried and…I’ve had successes, but I also have the bruises to show it.”
