‘America’s Got Talent’ Alum Charged With Murder In Toddler’s Death

Around this time last year, rising R&B trio CitiLimitz still had fans in an uproar over their Week 1 Quarterfinals elimination during Season 20 of America’s Got Talent.

Sadly, that dream has been deferred even further for one of its band members following the arrest of Deshundre Vinson in the accidental drowning of his 4-year-old nephew in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

22-year-old Vinson is facing a charge of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated child abuse after authorities claim negligence on his part led to the boy’s death in a Chattanooga apartment complex pool on August 16. According to WTVC, Vinson proceeded to actually leave along with the person who held the lease at his apartment, and couldn’t be found for two and a half weeks. Police later tracked him down to a home on Laws Avenue where he was then taken to the Hamilton County Jail.

“Chattanooga Police were already at the apartment complex that day on an unrelated call when officers heard screaming coming from the pool area.

They ran toward the screams and found people performing CPR on the 4-year-old.

Detectives later reviewed surveillance video showing the child walk from the edge of the pool into deeper water, according to the affidavit.

That report cites video that shows the boy struggling before going underwater.

He remained there for about nine minutes.

Someone nearby then pulled the unconscious child from the water and started CPR.

First responders rushed him to Erlanger Hospital, where he died five days later, according to the report.”

The affidavit also reveals that messages between Vinson and the boys’ mother showed acknowledgment on his behalf for the lack of supervision and his questionable flight after the drowning. At the time, the aspiring R&B crooner was babysitting the now-deceased 4-year-old, his 6-year-old brother and other children.

Even though we understand that accidents can happen, there’s no denying his behavior in response to such tragic events didn’t look good no matter how you view the situation.
