Tiger Woods Faces Five-Year License Suspension
Golf legend Tiger Woods lost his driver’s license for five years after pleading no contest to reduced charges in a Florida courtroom Wednesday. Woods stood before a Martin County judge to accept sentencing for reckless driving and refusing a lawful chemical test. Along with the license suspension, he received a $1,500 fine. The case dates back to a March DUI arrest, when officers found prescription painkillers in his possession. Woods has said the medication was tied to inpatient medical treatment he received overseas. The resolution closes a difficult chapter for one of sports’ most recognizable figures.
