Just when you think that the Republican depths of lows can’t reach a level beyond hell, they just keep proving everyone wrong; and you know it’s bad when even Republicans think that this is a new low.

Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate and overall GOP pick-me Vivek Ramaswamy released an attack ad against Democrat Amy Acton that featured her estranged mother. And the ad wasn’t just bad; it was insane.

“She’s lied her entire life. My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself,”  Donna Arthur, Acton’s mother, says in the ad. “People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that,” HuffPost reports.

Arthur claims that her daughter is lying about growing up in poverty and being raped by her stepfather. I told you that the ad reaches beyond hell levels.

What the ad failed to mention is that Acton’s stepfather, “Cledith ‘Bud’ Arthur, was charged with sexually abusing Acton when she was a child and ultimately fled the state with Acton’s mother, who abandoned her children and remained married to him until he died in 2004,” HuffPost reports.

During an appearance on CNN’s “NewsNight,” guest Scott Jennings (who doesn’t seem to have another job other than being Trump’s personal propagandist) called the ad “risky.”

“It is extremely risky. I agree with you,” Jennings said. “This kind of thing, you know, I think the way it first got out was they were testing it in some sort of focus group, and it sort of escaped the lab. And they might think that it tested well. Of course, what you can’t test in those settings is the rebuttal, and when people actually find out the story.”

He added that to “throw out a piece like this at the end of a race is not a confidence-inspiring item, and, you know, we’ll have to see where it lands.”

Ramaswamy took credit for the ad (because, of course, he did), and his campaign said it would spend $4 million to promote it because they don’t care about the backlash if it helps them win.

“It is so unbelievably disgusting to put this kind of ad out, and we’re seeing smears like this, and we’ve seen this is not necessarily new, but I’ve never seen it this low, and I don’t think Vivek should want to be known for that,” conservative panelist Jason Rantz added. “And it’s just a shame because I do think he could lead, but this shows that he can’t.”
