This month was bustling with the WNBA and NFL drafts, WrestleMania, and NBA playoff games galore, giving us plenty of good fashion, though mostly off the court. Expect to see substantial suiting from both women and men — two strong contenders for next month’s Met Gala — and a pair of truly snazzy cleats.

Flau’jae Johnson

Seattle Storm guard Flau’jae Johnson captivated screens at the WNBA draft in a glamorous black velvet bodysuit and skirt set, fresh off the runway and designed by French-Algerian designer Bent Kahina. But for us, it was the custom fur stole by Daniel’s Leather in New York that elevated the look to new heights. Wow!

Jade Cargill

WWE’s Jade Cargill’s look is the perfect lead-up to next month’s Met Gala, using the clothing on her body to mimic a Las Vegas sandstorm. The opening costume was a custom design by Natalia Barzilai, and the pieces underneath are custom made by Krista Howk. She looks quite literally like art, yes?

Awa Fam

One glance at the Instagram of the Seattle Storm’s new center, 19-year-old Spaniard Awa Fam, and we know red is her color. She wore a red, form-fitting gown with tasteful geometric cutouts to the WNBA draft, complementing the Coach orange carpet beautifully.

Cotie McMahon

The Washington Mystics’ new forward, Cotie McMahon, also walked the WNBA draft’s orange carpet wearing red: an oversized, burnt burgundy-striped blazer worn as a dress with a white button-up, black tie, white socks and ankle-strap sandals. MaMahon said the look was “like [rapper] Latto said, ‘This is business and personal.’”

Angel Reese

Speaking of business and personal, the day after Angel Reese was traded to the Atlanta Dream, she rolled up to Victoria’s Secret’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York to unveil her new global campaign in a LaQuan Smith gingham belted blazer and knee-length skirt with a thigh-high split and black pumps.

Madina Okot

Madina Okot, Atlanta’s rookie center and Reese’s new Dream teammate, also had a moment at the WNBA draft’s orange carpet in red and stripes. The 21-year-old Kenyan was statuesque in her cropped red striped blazer, matching suit pants and diagonally striped tie.

Victor Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs had a good suiting moment this month, courtesy of forward Kelly Olynyk, who gifted each of his teammates a custom suit from New York-based tailor Amin. We especially loved the look on Victor Wembanyama, whose height and frame made the suit an actual work of art.

Erica Wheeler

The Los Angeles Sparks’ new veteran guard Erica Wheeler’s relaxed take on suiting is making us excited to see her tunnel fits next season. The sheen of her brown button-down under the streamlined cut of her blazer was eye-catching enough, but paired with the brown bandana around her head, the brown shorts, the green pop of color dangling from her belt loop and the yellow patent boots? It’s just too good.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Baseball season is back, so you know that means we had to see what Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has on his feet. He usually doesn’t disappoint, and this month we were drawn to snazzy Jazzy’s custom “One Piece” Air Jordan 1 cleats, a rewear from Opening Day.

Raven Johnson

The Indiana Fever’s new guard walked the WNBA’s Coach-sponsored orange carpet wearing a Coach blazer with striped sleeves, stars on the outer panel, and plaid on the inner panels for a more playful take on suiting.
