DeAndre Hopkins has expressed his deep gratitude towards the Kansas City Chiefs for allowing him to reach the pinnacle of his career – the Super Bowl. Despite his undeniable talent and consistent performance, Hopkins faced doubts and skepticism from teams like the Texans, Cardinals, and Titans. However, it was the Chiefs who saw the potential in him and gave him the chance to prove his worth.
Let’s be real, the Chiefs took a chance on Hopkins and he’s proven them right. He’s been great on the field, making insane catches and dominating his opponents. He’s become a key player in the Chiefs team and has helped lead them to the Super Bowl.
But what gets me is how grateful Hopkins is to the Chiefs. He knows that he might not be where he is today without their faith in him. It’s not just about the opportunities they’ve given him, it’s about the belief they’ve had in him when others doubted.
In the game against the Bills, where Hopkins caught just one pass on two targets for 11 yards, he took the opportunity to send a strong message to those who doubted him. “I’ve been doubted, a lot of people wrote me off, 12 years in the league, I got traded for some pennies in my prime…” he said, referring to how he wasn’t treated well during his time with the Texans, Cardinals, and Titans.
Hopkins continued his message, adding, “Thanks to the organization [Chiefs] that gave me a shot, I could still go out here and make plays when I need to… draw double teams and play meaningful football.”
In his short time with the Chiefs, Hopkins has scored 4 touchdowns. While he didn’t score in the AFC Championship win over the Bills, he still has a chance to make an impact in Super Bowl LIX, as he has yet to score in the playoffs with his new team.
So, while DeAndre Hopkins may have had some rough times with previous teams, he’s found a home in Kansas City. And he’s making sure to show his gratitude every day. You can see it in his recent interview.
