From Megan Thee Stallion to Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, and more, fans of some of music’s biggest names are still flooding social media with reactions to the shocking 2025 GRAMMY nominations’ snubs and surprises (as revealed on November 8).
Among those dedicated groups are supporters of Usher‘s who – while still fuming over the absence of 2024 nominations for his 2023 comeback single ‘Good Good‘ – are scratching their heads over the dearth of nods he got for the tune’s parent album ‘Coming Home.’
As revealed, Ush (born Usher Raymond IV) – already an 8x GRAMMY winner – only landed one nomination at the 2025 GRAMMYs: Best R&B Album for ‘Coming Home.’
Facing off against projects from Chris Brown, Lucky Daye, Muni Long, and Lalah Hathaway, the nod comes as his first as a leading performer since 2015 when he was nominated alongside Brown for their ‘New Flame’ collaboration.
And while Raymond reigns as one of the best-selling R&B artists of the century thanks to his unforgettable LPs like ‘Confessions,’ ‘My Way,’ ‘8701,’ and ‘Here I Stand,’ 2025 will mark his first time competing for the Best R&B Album GRAMMY.
We suppose it’s some consolation that the 46-year-old does sit in GRAMMY history books for being the first man to win the genre’s subset award, Best Contemporary R&B Album, when ‘Confessions’ collected the trophy in 2005.
Yet, fans will have to wait until February 2, 2025, to see if ‘Coming Home’ takes home the leading R&B album award.
Look below to see how he responded to the nomination news.
