Netflix is doubling down on its commitment to ‘Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black.’

Anchored by Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart, the series chronicles the narrative of two women leading very different lives.

Kimmie (Williams) is struggling to make a living after her mother kicked her out, while Mallory (Stewart) is running a successful business. A number of dramatic twists and turns see their lives become all sorts of entangled.

The show has proven a seismic hit on Netflix.

Indeed, Part 1 spent four weeks within the Top 10 and in its second week was #1 across 28 countries. Part 2, which arrived this month, has dominated the social media landscape.

Speaking on the season 2 renewal, Perry said:

“We left fans on the edge of their seats at the end of Season 1, and we’re thrilled to continue Kimmie’s journey as she steps into her power as the newest member of the Bellaire family. Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.”
