Britney Spears fans (affectionately called the #BritneyArmy) have been quite busy over the last few weeks in defense of their favorite.
After giving Lizzo an unceremonious slamming for claiming the Pop diva’s career was just her doing a “Janet Jackson impression,” they turned their sights to Bobby Brown for asserting her cover of his hit ‘My Prerogative‘ was a “butchering.”
Now, thanks to a heated interaction with the #BritneyArmy over the weekend, the heat is on rising South African hitmaker Tyla.

Tyla (born Tyla Seethal) has long made her admiration of Spears known, but some believe she may have taken that adoration a little too far during her Coachella set over the weekend.
During her performance on Friday (April 18), the ‘Water‘ songstress made a splash while wearing an ensemble that immediately drew comparisons to Britney’s unforgettable ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ costume at the 2001 VMAs.
“Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly … no inspo,” Seethal said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“I personally think she is a copycat and too full of herself,” one user said to which Tyla replied, “Personally I think you should STFU.”
Ouch!
The spicy interaction sent Tyla’s mentions on the platform into the trending territory as Spears fans slammed her for not acknowledging what they believe was an obvious ripoff of Brit’s 2001 costume.
At writing, Tyla’s not reacting to the ongoing criticism which comes a week after she received copious praise for tributing another one of her favorites at Coachella: Aaliyah.
