Shedeur Sanders‘ 2025 NFL Draft experience was a complete nightmare; he was picked in the fifth round after being predicted as a first-round pick. Given the Raiders’ need at quarterback and his strong relationship with team co-owner Tom Brady, it’s no secret that he was frequently linked to the team. For many, he was even regarded as a top-three prospect.
Tom Brady’s disclosure regarding Shedeur Sanders
In light of this, one of the draft’s most intriguing tales has emerged: recent remarks made by NFL legend and Raiders co-owner Tom Brady regarding Deion Sanders’ son.
Michael Strahan, a former NFL player and anchor of Good Morning America, disclosed that he watched the selection with Brady, who expressed his opinions about Shedeur and even compared it to his own experience.
According to Strahan: “I spent time with Tom Brady this past weekend, and we watched the draft, and as Tom said, ‘He’s an example, it doesn’t matter when you’re picked,'”
Brady was infamously selected 199th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, after guiding Michigan to a 10-2 record in 1999, which included five victories against ranked teams, a victory over Ohio State, and an incredible 35-34 overtime comeback against Alabama.
Brady guided the New England Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory, the first of his seven, four years later.
