The Weeknd is pacing towards a titan-sized debut on the US charts with his new album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow.’
Full story below…
Unlocked on January 31, after being pushed back two weeks following the Los Angeles wildfires, the set arrived featuring 22 tracks.
Included are singles such as ‘Timeless (ft. Playboi Carti)’ and ‘São Paulo’ with Anitta. Additional guests include Future, Travis Scott, and Florence + The Machine.
The set is being supported by a theatrical film and, pending its release, a surprise performance at the GRAMMY Awards on Sunday night.
All, it seems, has created the perfect storm of buzz for the project – which is touted as the concluding part of a trilogy that also comprises ‘After Hours’ (2020) and ‘Dawn FM’ (2022).
For, the album is dancing in the direction of big first-week sales.
According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is forecast to launch at #1 on the Billboard 200 with:
350,000-375,000 Units
Should the number hold, it will function as a return form for the star.
Indeed, ‘Dawn FM’ saw a dip with its 148,000 US opening compared to the 444,000 premiere of ‘After Hours.’
As such, ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is shaping up to be quite the bounce back.
