The Giants GM Prefers Shedeur Sanders Over Other QB Prospects

According to reports, the New York Giants are interested in Shedeur Sanders going into the 2025 NFL draft.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen favors Colorado standout Shedeur Sanders over other quarterbacks in this year’s draft class, according to Connor Hughes of SNY. According to reports, if Sanders had declared last year, New York would have even considered selecting him in the second or third round.

As Hughes put it: “The talk around league circles has been Sanders,”. “It’s been that way since before the season ended. The Giants actually had a completed report on Sanders ready if he declared for last year’s draft. He would have been a target in the second or third round.”

Can Shedeur Sanders solve all of the Giants’ issues?

Sanders’ skill and the reality that this draft class isn’t as strong as last year’s loaded class make the Giants‘ obsession with him understandable. Following the benching and ultimate release of Daniel Jones earlier this season, New York is likewise in dire need of a quarterback.

Sanders’ propensity to hold onto the ball for too long when attempting to make plays is his only significant criticism. Although it can be beneficial to try to salvage a broken play, he was fired forty-two times last year as a result.

However, his problems with getting the ball out are definitely fixable and probably won’t have a significant effect on his draft position. The Giants may need to trade up if they are determined to select Sanders in the draft.
