Paula Abdul sexual assault and gender violence lawsuit against TV executive Nigel Lythgoe.
Full story below…
As reported, the ‘Straight Up’ singer claimed the entertainment honcho assaulted across her tenures on ‘American Idol’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’
Following the filing, Lythgoe hit back. He claimed Abdul had a “history of erratic behavior” and stressed his confusion given the various friendly messages Abdul allegedly exchanged with him during and after the frame of the alleged assaults.
A month before the pair were set to battle in court, a settlement has been reached.
The terms of the pact have not been disclosed nor is there public-facing intel on whether a monetary agreement was established.
What is for sure is that Abdul appears to be satisfied with the outcome.
Releasing a statement via her legal reps, the 62-year-old said:
“I am grateful that this chapter has successfully come to a close and is now something I can now put behind me.”
She continued:
“This has been a long and hard-fought personal battle. I hope my experience can serve to inspire other women, facing similar struggles, to overcome their own challenges with dignity and respect, so that they too can turn the page and begin a new chapter of their lives.”
