Micah Parsons, a former Penn State standout and current Dallas Cowboys player, stated that receiving an offer to play collegiate football at Alabama was a dream come true, but a visit to the Crimson Tide weight room turned out to be a bit more intense than he had expected.
During his podcast, Parsons stated: “I went to Bama for four days. I went out there and I was like, ‘Let me see what it’s like down South.’ I’m from up North, and it was so hot,”

On average, the four major recruiting services ranked Parsons as the top linebacker and the fifth overall talent in the 2018 football class. However, Alabama’s weight training program made even him feel challenged.
“The workout conditions were so treacherous. I said there’s no way in hell I can survive up here.” “They must’ve thought that was going to get me,”
“I showed up at 6 a.m. They did 31 [reps]. I said, ‘Oh my God.’ Then they did extra if you left early. I said maybe it was just a hard day. They said come back at 6 [a.m.], we’ll work out again.
“I said, ‘Dang, they really work over here.’ But then by the weekend it was like, I don’t think I can make it. It ain’t for me. Bama ain’t for everybody.”
Parsons left school as a junior, but he accomplished enough to earn a 2021 first-round pick by the Cowboys.
