Jason Kelce, a former center for the Philadelphia Eagles, has made it clear that he will not be making a comeback after formally hanging up his boots at the end of the 2023 NFL season.
Even though rumors of a comeback were circulating within the fan population, especially after the Eagles won Super Bowl 59 and established themselves as 2025 contenders, Kelce put a stop to the rumors in his usual direct manner.
In the most recent episode of his well-liked podcast, New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the 37-year-old Super Bowl winner addressed the rumors. When asked about his physical change, Jason disclosed that he has lost a lot of weight since retiring. Jason said: “I’m about 270 right now, I think,”
Surprised by the drop, Travis shot back with a lighthearted remark: “270?! That’s what I played last year. You could play tight end.”
However, Jason swiftly put an end to any thoughts of a comeback by responding firmly: “Can’t, no, my ankles and knees and back won’t let me. It’s getting bad.”
Because of his perseverance, leadership, and memorable on– and off-field incidents, Jason Kelce, who played for the Eagles for his whole 13-year NFL career, became a fan favorite. Up until his last snap, he was a mainstay of the offensive line and the emotional center of the team’s 2017 Super Bowl run. But now that I’m retired, the game’s physical toll is starting to show.
