With 23 points from Kawhi Leonard and 21 from James Harden, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 126-67 on Wednesday night, the biggest victory margin in the team’s history.
On April 10, 2022, the Clippers defeated Oklahoma City, breaking the team margin record of 50. Additionally, it was the Nets’ worst loss ever, surpassing a 52-point loss to Houston on October 18, 1978.
Even though coach Tyronn Lue used up all of his bench late in the third quarter, LA’s biggest lead was 64 points halfway through the fourth quarter.
In his fourth game since recovering from a knee ailment, Leonard played a season-high 24 minutes.
Day’Ron Sharpe scored 12 points, while Jalen Wilson led the Nets with 16. Brooklyn has lost five out of six games.
The Clippers, who led 58-35 at the half and scored the first 13 points of the third quarter to go on a 29-3 run, added 18 points from Nico Powell. LA had a 102-51 lead at the end of the quarter.
With 10:07 left in the second quarter, the Clippers were behind 25–24, but they went on a 21–4 run in the following 5:35. As LA gained control, Leonard scored eight points and Amir Coffey five.
On Thursday, the Clippers travel to Portland, and on Friday, the Nets stay in Southern California to play the Lakers.
