Earl Thomas’s Ex-wife Reportedly Defrauded Him of About $2.7 Million

Even though Earl Thomas hasn’t played in the NFL since 2019, the hits continue. According to TMZ, the former “Legion of Boom” Seahawks defensive back’s estranged wife allegedly cheated him of about $3 million in cash and property.

Nina Thomas started stealing money from the seven-time Pro Bowler shortly after she filed for divorce from him in 2020, according to court documents that TMZ was able to get.

She moved assets from his bank account into her own with the help of a co-conspirator.

Earl Thomas and his ex-wife’s fraud

According to TMZ, she spent a portion of the about $2.7 million on breast implants and a Hermes Birkin purse. Nina was arrested earlier this week and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft, according to court documents.

Saturday’s report is another chapter in a lengthy and convoluted tale of a love gone sour. Nina filed for divorce in November 2020, months after police claimed she had found the former NFL player in bed with two women and his brother, Seth, and had held Earl at gunpoint.

After Earl allegedly assaulted Nina while intoxicated the day after Christmas in 2021, a judge later issued a restraining order. After reportedly taking Earl’s identity in a $1.9 million swindle, Nina’s new lover was jailed in 2023.

A member of the Hall of Fame’s All-2010s Team and a three-time All Pro, Thomas’ career ended abruptly when the Ravens cut his contract prior to the 2020 season for “personal conduct that adversely affected” the team.

Throughout his career, Thomas recorded over 700 tackles and 30 interceptions while playing for the Seahawks for nine seasons and the Ravens for one.
