On Saturday, the Atlanta Hawks were supposed to play the Houston Rockets at State Farm Arena. However, because of the terrible weather in the Atlanta area, the game was postponed.
The NBA decided to postpone the game shortly after a winter blizzard hit the city on Friday night, making travel extremely hazardous. According to the league, the decision was made “to prioritize the safety of the players, fans, and staff due to the severe weather and hazardous icy conditions,” The storm on Friday night knocked out power to over 111,000 residences in the greater Atlanta area.
A date for the rescheduling will be revealed later.
Three NBA games have been postponed on Saturday, including the Hawks vs. Rockets match. Due to the fires in the Los Angeles area, the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Charlotte Hornets game and the Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs game have also been postponed.
