Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler Voted by NBA Players Amongst “Most Overrated”

Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler have both contributed significantly to the Warriors‘ success this 2024–25 NBA season, though perhaps not as much as you might imagine.

In the opinion of their peers, anyway. NBA players secretly responded to a series of league-related questions in The Athletic’s annual player survey. Dub Nation may be interested in the answers to one question in particular.

Tyrese Haliburton: 14.4%
Rudy Gobert: 10.0%
Trae Young: 8.9%
Jimmy Butler: 5.5%
Bradley Beal: 4.4%
Draymond Green: 4.4%

Although it’s possible to argue that Butler and Green are divisive players, their influence on the Warriors in previous seasons—and, in Green’s case, this one—is undeniable.

One is a finalist for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award, while the other, who arrived in a blockbuster trade on February 5, turned Golden State into a possible championship contender all by himself.

Green and Butler are valuable to the Warriors, regardless of what some NBA players may think of them.
