Journalists attended head coach Joe Mazzulla’s pregame news conference hoping to learn more about the star’s condition, but the team has only disclosed that Brown’s injury is a hip strain. These expectations were shattered by a truly amusing interaction between the unconventional coach and the interviewers.
So what was the conversation about Jaylen Brown ?
This was the hillarious conversation between Joe and the reporters.
Reporter A: “Have you been able to talk to him about the injury?”
Mazzulla: “I talk to him every day.”
Reporter A: “What were those conversations like?”
Mazzulla: “We both kind of mumble when we talk and we just shake hands and move on.”
Reporter A: “Did he happen to mumble about his hip at all?”
Mazzulla: “Couldn’t understand him.”
Another reporter followed the theme . Here’s how that conversation went on.
Reporter B: “Do you have any sense if that’s going to linger for a while?”
Mazzulla: “The mumbling or the injury?”
Reporter B: “Both.”
“Mazzulla: “Oh. I don’t. He works hard every day just trying to come back. I think it’s a day-to-day thing. We’ll see how he is when he wakes up tomorrow and go from there but he’s in there every day working at it.”

Funny stuff, made extra funnier by Mazzulla’s ability to avoid providing a meaningful response. which is typically how organizations would like to respond to inquiries from the public regarding a player’s health. However, Mazzulla, as usual, found a much more amusing way to handle business.
On Friday against the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET, Brown will get another opportunity to play.
